Louis Faustino, Teaching Elder

Louis Faustino grew up in Rockland, Massachusetts, and attended a local Baptist church during his youth.  However, Lou did not become a Christian until October of 1996.  As a new believer, he became active in his local church, and in 1999 he was licensed as the student pastor serving the church as the junior high, senior high and missions pastor until 2002.

Later that year, James 3:1 convicted him, and 2 Timothy 2:15 convinced him that he needed formal training in order to accurately handle the Word of God and teach it properly.  He and his wife Amy packed their bags and moved on their way to California so that Lou could attend The Master’s Seminary in Sun Valley.  While there, he also served as a residential intern for over two years in the Local Outreach Department at Grace Community Church under the leadership of Dr. John MacArthur.  In December of 2005, Lou graduated from seminary with a Master’s of Divinity degree and was officially ordained by the elders of Grace Community Church.

In the summer of 2005 Lou received the call to pastor Cape Cod Bible Church in Harwich, MA.  Immediately finishing seminary Lou and Amy moved to Cape Cod to begin ministry where Lou served as the pastor until February of 2012.  Though neither CCBC or Lou wanted to part ways, the Lord’s providential grace made it unavoidable. During his transition from pastoral ministry, Lou served as a hospice chaplain from 2013-2014 proclaiming the Gospel to those who were literally on their deathbed.

Again the Lord’s providential will was at work in Lou & Amy’s life and graciously revealed in 2014.  After hearing about Agape Baptist Church through a mutual friend in July 2014, Lou submitted his resume to the pulpit committee for their consideration.  Before long, on October 5, 2014 the church extended a call to Lou as their pastor of preaching/teaching and he humbly accepted.

Don Alley,  Elder

Don Alley was born again to the family of God in the year of 1959. The Lord graciously called him to His service in a youth ministry at the Daniels Bible Church in West Virginia. The Lord further burdened his heart for a three year Bible training at Appalachian Bible Institute. After completion the Daniels Bible Church called me full time as a Director of Christian Education.

In 1977, their family of five moved to Greenville, South Carolina for a Secondary Education degree at Bob Jones University. He finished training and they moved back to Daniels Bible Church as a family of six in 1980 where they began a christian school. They served there for three years and the Lord put a desire for the area of Mebane, North Carolina.

They were familiar with the new work called Agape Baptist Church. They had the opportunity to speak at a Wednesday evening service while training at BJU in the late 1970's. It was a gracious transition the Lord made for them to begin a christian school ministry in the following year. They have been serving at Agape since 1983 in one capacity or the other.

Jay Johnson,  Elder

He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior when he was 12 years old. He realized that he was a sinner in desperate need of a Savior. He surrendered his life to Jesus and was saved by His grace. He is still in awe of His marvelous mercy and grace today. He is now a part of the kingdom of God because of what Jesus did for him. He praises Him for that every day!

He loves our church for so many reasons but first and foremost it is because we wholeheartedly want to be a Biblical church. This means that we want every aspect of our church and our worship to line up with what God says in His Word about the church and holiness. God has taught us in His Word how He wants His church to be lead and we make every effort at Agape to line up with that.

Agape is the strongest Greek word used for love. The bible uses that word in a verse most are familiar with, John 3:16, “For God so loved (agapao) the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever will believe in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” At Agape, you will experience some of the most loving and caring people. This church is a praying church, bearing one another's burdens (Galations 6:2) and loving one another.

The preaching that you will hear at Agape is energetic and passionate. And most of all it is Biblical. Each passage is carefully studied and prayed over in order to preach what is being said in scripture. We don’t pass over the more difficult passages because we know that every word of God is living and active still today (Hebrews 4:12) and we can learn from every single passage.

If you want to be a part of a church that strives to be Biblical in every aspect and at church that genuinely loves one another, please come visit us soon.
