Don Alley

I can write a few words about Don Alley but like the Apostle John, it’s very hard to only speak or write a few words about the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank God for the privilege of serving as a deacon here at Agape Baptist Church along with my precious wife, Glenna. Our church family has always been blessed to have the servants heart for ministries hence “Agape” and the very essence of the name. I came to this location some 24 years ago from West Virginia and God has allowed me to labor in some part of this local church ministry. The Lord has given each of us a spiritual gift and calling and mine is teaching. I’d rather be teaching the Word of God than anything else, and the Lord has seen fit to use me in this capacity some 36 years.

The greatest strength Agape Baptist Church has always had is that of teaching the Word of God. Along side the teaching comes prayer. We are blessed with some of the greatest prayer warriors any ministry could ask for. These have been our sustainable strengths throughout the years. I believe every Christian’s maturity level can be measured by his or her prayer life.

We desire to keep our emphasis on the teaching of God’s word and “praying without ceasing” as we rightly serve one another in love (Agape). The service or ministry toward one another requires all the spiritual gifts God has given to each member of this congregation. We need to recognize these and help to integrate each member into his or her particular place of serving and ministry. Our music ministry is a perfect example of how this works in a local congregation. We have always been blessed with special gifts and servants in this particular ministry area.

We as a church need always to reach out to our growing community. It is very easy to be so busy within, that we forget or have little time to reach out. Our members and families need to be equipped to be that light in every place we go and have our being. In practicality our homes should also be little churches in our communities. It’s scripturally true, “each of us may be the only Bible they will ever read”.

We stand ready to help you in any way we can to better serve your Lord in gladness of heart and to grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. We invite you to come worship and grow with us.

In His Service,

Don Alley
