First let me start by thanking the Lord for my salvation. It was at a Fall Revival meeting that the Lord Jesus Christ saved me at the age of 13. If you are reading this and you are not saved, or if you are not sure that you are saved then please read “How to become a Christian”. My lovely wife Carol (my childhood sweetheart) and I grew up in the same church. Carol was saved there in 1973. I joined the Marine Corps in 1978. Carol & I were married in 1981. From 1981 to 1989 Carol and I moved around quite a bit with the Marine Corps.
In 1984 God blessed us with our son Gary. Gary accepted the Lord at the age of 12. He is now grown and married to his lovely wife Heather. I am happy to report that both Gary and Heather are Christians and are serving the Lord.
Carol and I came to Agape in the summer of 2004. We soon realized that Agape felt like home and knew that this was where God wanted us to be. We both teach Sunday School. Carol teaches Kindergarten -1st grade and I teach an adult class. I sing in the choir. When God commanded us to make a joyful “noise” I am sure that He had me in mind.
Because God has blessed us with so many Godly men at Agape Baptist Church, I was surprised when He called me to be a deacon. It is my prayer to be like the deacons in Acts 6. The word deacon means servant. It is my desire to be a servant to all at Agape.
I am excited about the ministries we have here at Agape. The church has seen a steady growth. I pray that with God’s blessing that we will continue to grow. If you are looking for a friendly church to call home, I would like to invite you to visit Agape.
